To get the right fit for your pallet cover bag, you’ll need to know three key dimensions of your pallet: its width, depth, and height. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you find the perfect size:
Choose the Larger Dimension: First, identify the bigger dimension between the width and the depth of your pallet. This will serve as the starting point for your calculations.
- In this case, the pallet is 48″ wide and 44″ deep. The width is larger, so we’ll start with 48″.
Width Sizing: Add a buffer of 4 inches to the larger dimension to ensure the cover will fit comfortably over the pallet.
- For our example, you’d add 4″ to the 48″ width, resulting in a bag width of 52″.
Depth Adjustment: Add an extra 2 inches to the pallet’s depth to calculate what’s known as the gusset of the bag.
- Here, the depth is 44″, so with the additional 2″, the gusset becomes 46″.
- Length Calculation: To find the bag’s length, add the pallet’s height to half its depth. This accounts for the bag’s seal, which will sit at the top center of the pallet. Optionally, you can add 2 more inches for a little extra coverage.
- In this example, half of 44″ is 22″. Add this to the height of 60″, and you get 82″. If you opt for the extra 2″, the length becomes 84″.
- So, for a pallet measuring 48″ x 44″ x 60″, the ideal LDPE pallet cover bag dimensions would be 52″ in width, 46″ in gusset, and 84″ in length.
