Established in 1976 in Denver, Colorado, Mountain States Plastics (MSP) has evolved into a premier manufacturer of high-performance industrial films. Celebrating 50 years in 2026, we remain an independently owned and operated industry leader, scaling our operations from foundational mono-layer production to highly advanced, multi-layer co-extrusion.
Strategic Growth and Expansion
In 1996, MSP relocated its operations to a specialized manufacturing facility in Johnstown, Colorado. Throughout the next three decades, we systematically expanded our portfolio to include FDA-compliant packaging, lumber film, heavy-duty sacks, and premium shrink films.
By perfecting our extrusion processes on mono-layer equipment over decades, we built the rigorous quality control standards and technical expertise that drive our operations today.
A New Standard in Extrusion Technology
To meet the escalating demands of the modern supply chain and support our aggressive production capacity goals, MSP executed a comprehensive facility-wide transformation in 2025. We completely modernized our plant, replacing and upgrading virtually every piece of machinery on the production floor.
Today, our operations are powered by state-of-the-art 3-layer and 5-layer co-extrusion (coex) lines, running alongside fully upgraded mono-layer machinery. By pairing the world's most advanced extrusion technology with top-of-the-line converting equipment, we guarantee uncompromising precision from raw resin to the finished roll.
